YouTube offers Dutch students a discount on the Premium Subscription. Video service YouTube gives Dutch students a discount on a Premium subscription from Friday, the company reports on its website on Friday.

 

Students who want to close YouTube Premium now pay 6.99 euros per month.

Usually, such a subscription costs 11.99 euros per month.

With YouTube Premium, users can watch videos ad-free. Videos can also be played offline and in the background.

Also, the subscription provides access to the music service of YouTube,

 and users can watch series that are exclusively on YouTube Premium.

The SheerID service checks people who want to receive a student discount.

For verification, students must, for example, enter the name of their educational institution.

“YouTube student memberships are only available for full-time students at higher education institutions in certain countries,” YouTube writes on a help page.

“Whether you qualify is verified by an external verification service.”

In addition to a student subscription and individual subscriptions,

 YouTube has also been allowing family subscriptions for some time.

A maximum of six family members can use Premium for 17.99 euro per month.
