US Traffic Agency Investigates Braking Problems with Tesla Driver Assistance System. The American traffic agency NHTSA is once again in its sights on the electric car maker Tesla.

It investigates the Autopilot function after reports that the driver assistance system sometimes makes the car brake unexpectedly and abruptly.

The NHTSA received a total of 354 reports of such braking problems in the past nine months. The regulator is now investigating models 3 and Y from 2021 and 2022. This concerns about 416,000 cars in the US.

Tesla itself has not yet commented on the possible defect.

However, the constructor of entrepreneur Elon Musk has been in the crosshairs of the NHTSA for some time: in recent weeks, Tesla has had to agree in several cases to fix problems in hundreds of thousands of cars.
