The stock exchanges in New York started the new session with a profit on Wednesday. The indicators thus showed some recovery after the sharp price falls of the day before.
Much attention has been paid to the large technology funds that have recently been on sale. Chat service Slack Technologies, which opened the books, was lowered by investors.
The Dow Jones index was 0.9 percent higher in early trading at 27,744 points. The broad S&P 500 rose 1.3 percent to 3375 points, and the technology gauge Nasdaq gained 1.9 percent to 11,055 points.
Significant tech funds such as Apple and Microsoft gained up to 2.6 percent. Chip companies such as Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) and software group Salesforce also turned green.
This also applied to the electric car maker Tesla (plus 3.1 percent), which had its worst session ever the day before with a loss of 21 percent.
Slack Technologies lost more than 16 percent, despite better-than-expected quarterly results and an increase in full-year forecasts.
There was a lot of interest in the services of Slack because companies let employees work from home en masse. However, investors had hoped for more.
