Stray Police Bullet Kills Valentina (14) in the Fitting Room of A Clothing Store

A police bullet intended for a shoplifter has killed a 14-year-old girl in upstate Hollywood. Valentina Orellana-Peralta was standing in a changing room with her mom when a stray police bullet went through the wall, right into her chest. The robber has also shot dead afterwards.


The facts date back to last weekend, but now the Los Angeles police have released images of the drama.

Valentina Orellana-Peralta came to the US with her mother Soledad Peralta from Chile about six months ago to visit her older sister. He works in a restaurant in the US. Her daddy, who is a bank clerk, stayed at home. They would return to Chile after New Year, although they hoped to stay in the US.

Valentina was with her mom at the Burlington Coat Factory clothing store in North Hollywood when suddenly, a young man walked in and attacked customers with some kind of bicycle lock. He had just severely assaulted and injured a woman when the police arrived.

Police ordered 24-year-old Daniel Elena Lopez to surrender. When he refused, several shots were fired. Lopez died on the spot.
