Russian Ambassador Demands Apology. Twenty-five states had expelled Russian diplomats over the Skripal case. Russia can imagine an end to the diplomatic crisis only under one condition, reports News Tribune.

The Russian Ambassador to Germany, Sergei Netschajew, believes that a return of the embassy staff assigned for the Skripal affair is only possible with an apology from Great Britain.

The British would have to acknowledge “that the whole affair was for Katz,” Nechaev said in an interview with the German Press Agency. “You have to acknowledge that this was a big mistake or a big lie, you have to turn back the wheel of history and say, Sorry, dear Russians, we made a mistake.”

In March, former Russian double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julija were found unconscious in Salisbury, UK. The British investigators assume that they were poisoned with the developed in the former Soviet Union Novitschok agent. The British government, therefore, accuses the Russian government of masterminding the attack. Russia vehemently rejects these allegations.

Around 25 states and NATO had referred more than 140 Russian diplomats as a consequence of the case. Germany also declared four Russians unwanted. Russia reacted with the expulsion of many diplomats. Almost 300 diplomats from Russian and Western embassies had to go home around the world because of the Skripal Affair.
