A London police officer was suspended on Friday after a video surfaced showing him holding a black suspect with his knee.
A police officer called the footage “extremely disturbing.” London Mayor Sadiq Khan asked for a quick and thorough investigation.
The video circulating on social media shows the agent placing his knee on the side of the suspect’s head and neck.
He was arrested on Thursday evening for allegedly being involved in a brawl. The suspect is still in custody.
An independent supervisor investigates the incident.
Since George Floyd’s death in late May by a cop who clamped his neck, police action against black detainees, in particular, has come under fire again.
