Read Time:40 Second

Parcel deliverer DHL will use twelve electric planes to transport freight from 2024. The aircraft can transport almost 1,200 kilograms, fifty times less than a Boeing 777.

The organization initially wants to use the aircraft in California to reduce emissions during flight movements.

The aircraft have been ordered and will be delivered by the Israeli start-up Eviation, which wants to fly its model Alice for the first time this year. Initially, this type was intended as a passenger aircraft for nine people.

The battery has a range of more than 800 kilometres. Charging the battery takes 30 minutes, which DHL says can happen during cargo loading and unloading.

According to DHL, it is crucial to make every mode of transport electric achieve zero emissions. DHL already delivers with electric vans and bicycles.
