In Los Angeles, a man is searched for who shot two young officers in their service car. The two are seriously injured in hospital.
According to the police, they have been ambushed. This year alone, nearly 40 US police officers have been killed on the job.
The 31-year-old female cop and her 24-year-old male colleague were in their official car near a Los Angeles subway station when a passerby fired his gun through the car window.
The two officers were hit in the head but were able to ask for help via the car radio.
In the meantime, the shooter had run away. According to the police, this is a black man between 28 and 30 years old. A sum of $ 100,000 will be awarded for anyone who can provide information leading to his arrest.
Sheriff Alex Villanueva says the two have been ambushed. These are officers who had just graduated from the police academy for a year. “The two were just doing their jobs. This pisses me off. And I’m shocked by it too.”
